On Friday, the Andrus' took Miles, Hunter and me on the Heber Creeper. Arlene had her grandchildren staying with them and asked us to go along. Thanks! The boys had a lot of fun. We drove up to Heber, took the train to Vivian Park, and then returned on the train to Heber. At the park, we had a few minutes while the engine was moved from one side of the train to the other. I let the boys off the train and they spent a few minutes playing at the playground. After arriving back at Heber, I asked Miles what his favorite part had been. He replied "playing on the playground." KIDS! On the first leg of the trip, robbers on horseback rode along side the train with guns. They borded the train and told everyone to put their hands up. The boys sat there frozen with their hands in the air. I didn't realize it at the time, but Hunter was pretty scared. On the return trip, when we arrived near the place the robbers had been, Hunter climbed on my lap and said he didn't want the robbers to come on the train, and then he hid under the seat. The boys were both able to buy a treat on the train and Miles really enjoyed that. I gave him a dollar, and he went and bought an ice cream all by himself. You should have seen his smile. He thought he was so grown up to be able to do that alone! Hunter was filthy at the end of the trip. He probably spent as much time on the floor of the train as on the seat. We then drove back to Vivian Park where Merrill and Karl met us and we had a KFC picnic.
