Weekend

When it rains it pours. I sometimes go a whole week without anything really happening. This weekend, it seemed as though everything was happening. On Friday, a bunch of us from the ward took our kids over to the fire station. Mike Smith was so wonderful with the children and gave them a tour. He talked to them about not playing with matches and other fire safety. He then let them try on the fireman clothes and showed them what was in the fire truck. They each got to hold the hose and spray water. That was their favorite thing to do. They then climbed in the fire truck. Pretty exciting! Especially for the little boys. We had Spencer and Joshua with us. They loved it when Mike turned on the siren. THANKS MIKE! Mike: So what do you do if you catch on fire?
Miles: You get dead.

Later that night, I took Miles and Joshua to a Owlz baseball game. Karl once again got tickets from work, but he had to go to Park City to document a conference and take pictures. We had Joshua and Spencer spending the night because their family was moving and we were trying to help them out. Most of the day on Friday and then again on Saturday morning, I was with Nancy helping her pack and move. Anyway...Miles hadn't been able to go to a baseball game the first time we went and so I thought it would be nice to take him. He and Joshua had a good time. However, Joshua was frightened by the Owlz mascot and refused to get close to it. Then Saturday afternoon, the Maxwell's from Alhambra Ward were up in Utah celebrating their 55 wedding anniversary. Mom and I went and it was a lot of fun seeing people who had been in the Alhambra Ward and finding out how everyone was doing.
