Grandpa Freeborn

Grandpa Freeborn passed away just less than a month before Bryce was born.  I have been wanting to make a blog about him since his funeral, but have not made the time for it.  It was amazing the things I learned and re-learned about him the past couple of months.

I love this picture of him as a kid.

I never knew that Nana and Grandpa eloped.  Moore didn't think anyone was good enough for Nana, so they eloped.

During the funeral, we were allowed to tell a memory we had of Grandpa.  Some great things were remembered:
  • He reported what he did from his calendar each day.
  • He always made the ice cream in the container even.
  • He was very frugal for himself, but very generous towards his children and grandchildren.
  • He shared the 1 strawberry that was ripe each day.
  • He hated the door being left open.
  • He mowed his children's lawn each week.
  • He loved his family.
Grandpa...you are missed!
